Frequently asked questions

Can I start numbering from a number other than 1?

Yes. Set "Start at" to any number — useful when your PDF is a chapter of a larger document. With "Page 1 of N", N is the last number that will appear.

Where can I put the page numbers?

Top or bottom of the page, aligned left, center or right. Use the margin setting to move the numbers closer to or further from the edge of the page.

Will page numbers cover my existing content?

Numbers are drawn on top of the page. If your document has a footer or header near the edge, increase the margin or switch to the opposite edge so they don’t overlap.

Is my PDF uploaded to add the numbers?

No. Page numbers are added in your browser with nothing sent to a server, so your file stays private on your device.
