Frequently asked questions

Will resizing reduce image quality?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp — we use high-quality smoothing. Enlarging beyond the original size can’t add detail, so upscaled images may look softer.

How do I keep the image from looking stretched?

Keep the aspect-ratio lock (the link icon) switched on. When you change the width, the height updates automatically, and vice versa.

What format is the resized image saved in?

JPG and WebP stay in their format; PNG, GIF, BMP and SVG are saved as PNG so transparency is preserved.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Resizing happens on your device with the browser’s canvas — the image is never sent to a server.
