Summary
MagicDocTool is a privacy-first PDF toolkit. We do not require an account, we do not sell your data, and the files you process are deleted automatically. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Files you upload
Files are uploaded solely to perform the conversion you request. They are held in temporary storage and permanently deleted no later than 30 minutes after processing. We never read, share, sell, or use your file contents for any other purpose, and we do not use them to train any model.
Information we collect
We collect anonymous, aggregate usage metrics — which tool was used, input/output file sizes and processing time — to monitor performance and improve the service. To count unique visitors without identifying anyone, IP addresses are combined with a secret salt and irreversibly hashed before storage; we never retain raw IP addresses. We do not build advertising or behavioural profiles of you.
Cookies and local storage
We use a small amount of essential browser local storage to remember your light/dark theme preference and your cookie-consent choice. These are strictly necessary and set no matter what. We only set advertising or analytics cookies after you give consent (see below).
Advertising
To keep MagicDocTool free, we may display ads served by Google AdSense. Advertising is disabled until you accept cookies in our consent banner. If you accept, Google and its partners may set cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, and in some cases to personalise them. If you decline — or ignore the banner — no advertising cookies are set and no ad requests are made. You can change your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
Third-party services
With your consent, Google AdSense may process limited data (such as your IP address, device/browser information and ad interactions) to deliver ads; see Google’s Privacy & Terms at policies.google.com. Web fonts are served by Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address to deliver the font files. Your uploaded file contents are never sent to any third party. Our own usage analytics are self-hosted.
Legal basis (GDPR)
For visitors in the EEA/UK, we rely on “legitimate interests” for essential, privacy-preserving operation and aggregate analytics, and on your “consent” for advertising cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time with no effect on the core tools.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to it. Because we hold no files and no accounts, there is typically no personal document data to act on — but for any request or question, contact us at privacy@magicdoctool.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Data retention
Uploaded files: deleted within 30 minutes. Aggregate, anonymised usage metrics: retained only as long as useful for monitoring and improvement. Consent and theme preferences: stored in your browser until you clear them or change your choice.
Children
MagicDocTool is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
