Frequently asked questions

Does it handle commas, quotes and line breaks inside fields?

Yes. The parser follows RFC 4180: fields wrapped in double quotes can contain delimiters and line breaks, and a doubled quote ("") inside a quoted field becomes a single quote character.

How does delimiter auto-detection work?

It tries comma, semicolon, tab and pipe on the first lines of your data and picks the one that splits every row into the same number of columns. You can always choose the delimiter manually.

What JSON shape can I convert to CSV?

An array of objects works best — the columns are the union of all keys, so objects with missing fields simply get empty cells. Arrays of arrays and a single object are supported too; nested objects are written as JSON text.

Will my CSV open correctly in Excel?

Downloaded CSV files include a UTF-8 byte-order mark so Excel shows accents and non-Latin characters properly. If your Excel uses semicolons as the list separator, pick the semicolon delimiter before downloading.
